Introductory note by ICABE's chief executive

Thank you for visiting ICABE's site. This site is operated by the "International Consortium of Asian Business Education" (ICABE).The Consortium, which consists of universities, corporations and research institutes around the world, aims to store, provide and mutually use information concerning Asian business education at the university and graduate school level, while it intends to educate people in this field as well.

Needless to say, Asia has increased its significance in the world year by year.Above all, we can see rapid and dynamic development of the Asian economy compared to the world economy, and find that business activities in Asia which support the Asian economy are making dramatic and quick progress.ICABE seeks to be the core of a pragmatic network for precisely understanding the educational aspect of Asian business and offering high-quality business education. This site is the very door to the information provided by ICABE.

"Business education' means to foster the ability to accurately and practically administer business in a continuously changing business environment. Therefore, the ICABE network does not simply provide information on Asian enterprises, or mere know-how regarding Asian business. The Consortium emphasizes the provision of comprehensive education facilities, focusing on developing "professionals who can think for themselves, find appropriate solutions and carry them out" in conducting Asian business.

To reach this advanced goal of business education, we consider it important to offer information supporting development of learning materials and teaching methods, as well as various kinds of devices that teachers and students can use effectively in the actual environs of education.More specifically, we must effectively provide substantial information on education that covers a wide-range and versatile management, including corporate strategies, organization management, personnel administration, marketing, financial management, engineering management, risk management, intellectual property control and logistics. In addition, interactive activities such as "exchange lessons" among members, "internships," "joint studies," "Faculty Development" and "hosting symposiums on Asian business" must be useful.

Today, education and training in Asian business is offered by many business schools and corporations around the world. We wish to integrate them into a network through ICABE, so as to greatly activate business education by way of mutually offering what each organization is good at, exchanging persons concerned, and improving them through friendly rivalry. We are pleased to tell you that, owing to support from universities and corporations approving of these objectives, our vision is being realized step by step.Thank you very much for your assistance.

Your continued warm support of ICABE's future activities will be also highly appreciated.Lastly, please be informed that this project has won the subsidy for "Support Project for Establishing Law Graduate Schools or Other Professional Graduate Schools" from the Ministry of Education and Science, and that this Consortium and website are managed by "Kyushu University Business School (Department of Business and Technology Management, Faculty of Economics, Kyushu University)."
