Functions of ICABE

This Consortium seeks to fulfill the following functions.

1.Provision of portal sites

The Consortium integrates the knowledge and information stored by respective educational institutes or corporations into a comprehensive database, and encourages members to utilize those data.Furthermore, this website facilitates users as a portal to diverse information sources concerning Asian business education.

2.Functional sophistication of member educational institutes

This Consortium aims for the sophistication of Asian business education at all member institutes concerning education.Member institutes will become able to share information on education through a comprehensive database, and by participating in such projects as joint studies, learning material development, FD forums and exchange lessons, they can complement educational sources.The purpose of this Consortium is to fully satisfy the educational needs of enterprises.

3.Realization of global education system

Business education in Asia has been provided by traditional methods.However, its effectiveness will be greatly improved by the global education support system and the practical education program, which comprise three factors: comprehensive database, joint study and learning material development.The practical education program developed by this Consortium will encourage students to positively participate in joint studies on Asian business, database construction and other activities that would comprise the education system.The program will provide opportunities to learn the education content more deeply, while at the same time continuously improving educational effectiveness by consistently building up the education system from the viewpoint of students.

4. Developing mutual understanding with other Asian countries in regard to business education

The Consortium will promote joint studies for the purpose of exchanging information on Asian business education and developing educational content, based on international cooperation between industry and academia and among universities.The Consortium will help Asian nations better understand one another and their common agenda, which requires international harmonization of business systems and practices.
